What are the key roles in ABA?

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

An RBT is the therapist who conducts the one-on-one therapy with the client, under the supervision of a BCBA, and carries out treatment protocols and behavior plans that are designed by the BCBA. In other words, the RBT is the person your child will see on a daily basis.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

The BCBA has a Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (or related field) and studies/analyzes the behavior of the client. They develop an individualized treatment plan to help improve the client's life. The BCBA conducts regular supervision sessions with the RBT and continuously analyzes the data to determine the next steps of treatment. The BCBA also conducts parent trainings to ensure optimum success.
